This image was removed from Instagram because it was sexually explicit. What the actual fuck?
January Salon
There was no December Salon. But there was a January One. These are my images…
3D Stuff
Back in the day (like 15+ years ago), I used to dapple in 3D rendering. This was before I really worked with models much but still had a vision for creating nude art. Lately, I’ve been sort of looking into getting back into it, especially in a way that I can try concepts before fumbling around in the studio. Today, I spent the morning playing around and this is what I came up with.
November Salon
Met last night with my group. This is what I showed. In other news…things are gonna change here. I’ll be moving to a Patreon based subscription system for more in-depth image series (I have 15 years worth of material. I hope some people will help to contribute a modest amount to see new shoots.
October Salon
Per the usual. Here are last months’ showings at my salon group. Getting ready for this month’s…
September Salon
I missed last month’s Salon so this month I brought stuff from the Eastern Sierra, New York City, Mt Tamalpias, Mt Diablo, Secret salt ponds and just a couple from my Rogue River raft trip. I hope you enjoy.
July Salon
I missed the last two months of my salon group. This month I made it, and here’s the images I presented.
A random old shoot
Facebook reminded me of this old shoot with Jessi. As with many of my old shoots from years ago (5 in this case), I often wonder what happened to people who passed through my life that I shot with. Jessi is no exception.
Tilt Shift in the Studio
I bought a tilt shift lens last year. It’s pretty fun. It’s completely manual focus so you have to work a little harder to get your shot. When I was in the Studio with Bex in March, I pulled it out and played a little. These are the resultant shots. If you want to know a little more about tilt shifts, it’s easy to google :)
April Salon
We met a little later than usual this month, but wow, some awesome images were shown last night. These were my humble additions to the evening. I’m way behind in my editing, so this is sort of a mishmash of a few different shoots. Please enjoy!
A classic Been done shot
Everyone has done this shot, and now, so have I.
March Salon
Each month I meet with a group of talented local photographers and show off my best stuff from the previous month. This is what I showed this month.
An instagram request...
I had a guy on instagram ask me about seeing the original images from this composite.
So being the sycophant that I am, I though I would oblige (although sycophant doesn’t apply here because I get no advantage from this nice guy behavior). Anyway, here they are. You will notice that some of them were flipped because my artistic vision thought they should be :) Please enjoy!
Back from Antarctica...
As always, I’m a crappy blogger. Since I last posted, I’ve done a few shoots, traveled to the South Pole, toured around Antarctica with Devi, and now I’ve been home for a couple of weeks. I’m still organizing my photos from the South Pole and New Zealand, but I went out locally on Friday February 15th to Cataract Creek and then on the 17th out to Rodeo Beach. These aren’t award winners…but what the hell, I’m gonna post them anyway. Look for more updates shortly.
Cheers.
Jay.Marie
I recently met a model on Instagram who was just starting out and somehow decided it would be a good idea to drive down to Oceano at the crack of dawn (I left my house at 2AM) to catch the sunrise on the dunes. It was a bit of a risk (new model) and logistics and whatever, but I felt a good vibe from here and honestly just needed a day off work. Everything went amazing. We had plenty of time to shoot on the dunes (though, she froze…and was awesome for doing so). We got some amazing shots. We then had breakfast and headed to downtown Arroyo Grande where we stealthily got some shots in under the swinging bridge. Here’s a few out-takes from the shoot. I’ll post the whole set a while later. I’m sooo glad I made the trip and a new friend! I can’t wait to shoot with her again.

Iceland Trip Log
I'm going to write down where we went and what we did a bit (including maps and images) just so I have a record of where we went and what we did...
Firs off, Iceland was amazing, and I'm officially in love. We were only there for 5 nights and I wish we had more. We stayed mainly in the Southern portion though we did take a jaunt to the somewhat middle on our second day.
I've included some google tracking below so you can see where we went
We flew out on the 8th and arrived the morning of the 9th (early), so we had to keep ourselves busy for a few hours before we could check into our airbnb. I took a drive down to Landeyjahöfn which was a cool black sand beach and also a port where boats go out to the islands. I also stopped at Seljalandsfoss which was a pretty cool waterfall where I had to pay roughly $7 to park. I chose not to walk behind it and get my new camera all wet.
The next day (August 10th we met up with a model I hired for the day and headed up into the inland for some shooting and adventure going on the Icelandic famous F roads. We had a fabulous day that included waterfalls and volcanic wasteland as well as Iceland's famous moss.
It was a long and beautiful day! The next day (August 11th) we drove to our next airbnb and stopped by a cool (but warm) pool on the way as well as the famous mossy canyon Fjaðrárgljúfur. On the way back to our airbnb, we stopped for some photos in the amazingly huge lava moss fields. I flew my drone a bit and got some cool overhead shots too.
The next day (the 12th) was perhaps our biggest day. This was the day for the icebergs and ice beach. But we first wanted to stop by the moss canyon and see if we could get some photos before everyone showed up; we were in luck.
The 13th was a long drive across the south. Just before we drove into Vik, we all noticed a pretty waterfall that looked like it was easily accessible. so we stopped and took some photos.
Trying to get closer to that lighthouse nearly ruined our day when I got a little aggressive with our rented SUV...
Our last day came too fast, but we made the best of it. We got up early to get to Kleifarvatn early enough to shoot before tourists showed up. And sure enough they did, but not before we got some good shots.
And for some reason both my silly traveling companions wanted to be pose nekid near sheep, so, lol, that was the last shots we tried to get :)
This was a really wonderful trip and the only thing I wish is that we had more time.
Iceland...I'll be back!
Iceland!
Last week (I just got back yesterday) I was in Iceland with my girlfriend and my good friend CKudos. While there, my instagram got deleted for some dumb reason (a not blurred or blocked enough nipple perhaps). I've decided to not fool with instagram any more unless they re-instate my account, so, you can expect a lot more blog posts here...
I took thousands of photos over the last 6 days, and have only begun to scratch the surface, but thought I'd share some of what I have so far.
I have enough material for a book...I'll let you know when it's ready!
Enjoy. Comments are always appreciated.
I have a new toy...been making some panoramas.
Salon - June 2018
By now you all know I do a photo salon every month. This month is no exception. Here's the stuff I showed this time.
